BT Wholesale Diagnostic Test

[link to this post]

Are we all getting fed up & tired of kept doing first page test before next page to do a further diagnostic test to get your ip profile?

Well, not anymore, you can ran BT Wholesale run diagnostic test straight away to get your ip profile. Please note: Speedtest throughput isn't correct. Use a normal BT speed test here: http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/

Quickest way to check ip profile here:

Thanks
Only one problem
Downstream test is fine but upstream test gives this result
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.01Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
I would be interested if others see the same effect
I will run it again in 10 minutes to check

Second run through and the same silly result

Maybe we just ignore the throughput speed. Only use this test to check ip profile quickly. For a real proper throughput speed use this one instead: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

Now it says
Test Error

You must wait 10 Minutes between tests.

Well shiver-me-timbers. That's great. How did you find that?

One oddity, I just did it, then ran via the normal quick test:-

Direct:-
Download speed achieved during the test was - 46.41 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 46.01 Mbps-57.51 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 57.51 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.01Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
Normal
Download speedachieved during the test was - 51.88 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 46.01 Mbps-57.51 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 57.51 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 11.58Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
Speeds presumably variable due to it being via wirelss, but look at the upload in particular. That's unlikely to be a wireless effect.

Yes, I had to leave mine in mid-reply, in order to get the Further Diagnostics, so didn't see any posts since the OP. Need to retry the downstream comparison, wired, some other time.

Yeah, I understand what I'm seeing now, just the IP Profile - the speedtest bit is irrelevant (as always).

Nice find Max, presumably Doris told you about this?

Yep, just for IP Profile quick check (ignore any speed throughput)

I try to work out how to get it spot on. Bear with me until I sort it out.

Yes, I get precisely that response as well.

Running the TBB Test gives me an upload of 1.04Mbps - hence I don't even understand how the IP Profile of 0.83 could be right!

John

By doing the 1st part of the test. The Diagnostic part sends the 1st part results to a server. By not doing 1st part it has nothing to work on.

I just wish BT Wholesale to change the page with three option choices on the same page:

1) Press Enter for standard speed test
2) Press Enter for Further Diagnostic Test with standard speed test with your phone number
3) Press Enter for IP Profile only with your phone number

The link he gives looks like, but isn't the same as the Further Diagnostics page.

You are right about how the latter works, but the link he gave (on the face of it) runs download and upload in the way the original test used to.

I might try wired tests tomorrow to see how the two downloads compare smile.

Nearly all my stuff I report here is wired, from my main XP desktop smile, and I concur with everyone's findings.
