Okay after a mixed reaction to the Sony HX200V, I've added a Samsung NX1000 to my collection and a first couple of pictures are at:

The first one is actually a crop from the full res 20Megapixel file, and bug is a further crop, showing a bug that I did not see when shooting the picture.
In comparison to the HX200V it is a bit harder to do macro stuff, but I am capturing a lot better detail with this camera. It is a bit odd going back to a fixed screen camera, but as main use for the Samsung will be portrait and landscape, rather than superzoom I am happy with the range the two cameras gives me.
The manual focus ring works better than the Sony, which might allow for more creative fun.
I'll grow up to a full size DSLR I guess next time.
