Speedtouch 585v6 -> Linksys WRT54GS

[link to this post]

Hi,

Wonder if anyone here know's if the Speedtouch 585 can assign the public IP to the WAN port of a Linksys WRT54GS, so basically the Speedtouch 585 is being treated as DSL modem and the network traffic is being passed through the Linksys WRT54GS.

It can do if you use the bridge profile on the speedtouch and logon using the WRT pppoe client.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, I dont recall seeing a bridge profile on the speedtouch, I assume your implying during the initial setup of the router?

The extra profiles (templates) are normally available to download from the speedtouch site. Just make sure you grab the correct version to match your firmware.

Thx.

I have found http://www.speedtouch.co.uk/downloads/5x6/5326UK/world_templates_5_3_2_6.zip templates.. are they the ones?

Are these the two files that are most relavant: -

SW_BAS_bridge_5xx.tpl
SW_BAS_bridge_5xx_WL.tpl

I suppose its the WL (wireless) version?

Thx.
