A Router compatibility question

My little cousin wants me to set up her non wireless XP Window Box to access her TalkTalk BB service, wirelessly

I already have a Netgear, "WG121", USB 2.0 adaptor (54Mbps 802.11g compliant)supplied with my DG834G router, which as a Mac user I obviously never had a use for, so I'm giving her that to plug into her PC.

DO I need a Netgear Wireless Router to talk to the adaptor, or will any other make do as well?

No, any make will do though sometimes it is better to keep to the same manufacturer for compatibility reasons.
