ADSL Router/PC problem

I have just been upgraded to ADSL max. My router settings are showing that I am receiving speeds up/down of 8128/448.

My problem is that when I do a speed check I am getting 1917/373.

Any help would be appreciated.

Router is Safecom SAMR 4114

ISP is Ezeedsl (no comments please !!)

Sounds like either contention or most likely a stuck BRAS profile.

Check your IP profile here: http://speedtester.bt.com/

It should say around 7.1Mbit, but it's likely to say 2Mbit with the speed your getting.

It may fix itself in a couple of days, you could force a couple of resyncs, that might unstick it.

How long have you had Max for?
If it is under 10 to 14 days, you are still in the training period.
After 10 days your ISP can raise a stuck BRAS profile fault, but it's not likely to do anything during the training period.

I understand there is a traing period and BT or my ISP would not do anything until after this time. I was just hoping there was a simple solution - no such luck ! Thanks for replying

Your modem will have to have been sync'd at 8M and stable for at least 3 days before you get the higher BRAS profile.

Not on its first connection after upgrade, the new profile should be applied after 75 minutes. Occasionally leaving the thing disconnected for an hour or two then reconnecting prompts it to trigger and pick up the new profile, so its worth a try.

Tried turning on and off, still stuck at 2mbs. My ISP/BT will have to sort this out after the 10 day period. Thanks for all your replies
