I've seen 15m high-performance RJ11 leads advertised. Look at what Belkin sell. I've bought and used 3m, 5m, and 9m versions of Belkin Cat5-quality RJ11 leads to good effect.
There's no real performance limit imposed by long RJ11 leads. After all, your line back to the exchange is infinitely longer by comparison. Just regard the RJ11 lead as a tiny add-on at your end. Keeping the lead away from sources of interference is sensible but, again, should be no more of a problem than the rest of the line inside your house.
So-called 'screened' RJ11 leads are fairly useless, as the screen (braid) isn't connected to any pin on either RJ11 plug and so ultimately does not connect to any earthed part of the system. The leads, eg. Belkin, described as high-quality, though are arguably worth using, as the pair-twisting is somewhat better than you'll find with standard BT cable and so is more akin to Cat5 and may reject noise and crosstalk a little better.
