Reliable Modem/router?

Any suggestions for a reliable Modem/router , 4 port wired, using Max premier.
Using a Netgear DG834 V2 but it keeps loosing it's brains, no connection but all shows ok in settings, I need to factory default it and then set-up again, using the backup does not work, tried all the different firmwares etc. Can be fine for a while then it goes when I am not there to fix and it annoys s.w.m.b.o.
