C\isco Router 877

Hi all,
after a bit of help I have a cisco router that i am trying to set up with an adsl connection and i thionk i got it right but it wont connect. the line is ok as the other router we have works but this one will not connect it just says it cnt find the ip address for the interface (adsl) or dns would someone mind talking me though it?

Post the config and someone will take a look.

im new to this box how do i do that?

Either use the console cable and hyperterminal.
or
Open a command window(start | run | cmd (enter)) and telnet into the router: eg telnet <ip address of router> (enter)

After entering username and password (if set) type show run (enter), copy the info to notepad or wordpad and then do a copy and paste into the reply.

Also type show version and post the last part which says configuration register.

You don't have DHCP configured...how are you assigning IP addresses?

IP address to network is static 192.168.1.250 but the ip address from the ADSL connection should be DHCP.

The router's address on the LAN interface is 192.168.1.250. OK.

What is your PC's IP address?

The address over the ADSL connection is assigned via IPCP not DHCP (but that's probably not relevant at this point!).

If you can telnet to the router, can you post the output from a 'sh dsl int atm0' command.

You might want to remove your password from the original config too as it's very easily decrypted.

When the routers all plugged in and your logged in to the routers terminal, does ping 212.23.6.100 fail or work?

People at current are unsure if the fault lies WAN -> cisco or cisco -> LAN at current. So the above should help diagnose where the problem resides.

it connect to the lan and a ip route works but it wont connect to the internet connection adsl
