Hi All,
I'm having some bizarre stability issues with my f2s max connection.
I live a few miles from the exchange and consequently have settled on having ~3mb connection. No problem there, the speed is more than adequate. What is really getting to me, is the instability. My Netgear dg834gt stays 'connected' yet over about 30 minutes the speed degrades so badly that opening a web page (using bbc news page as test) does not complete. The only solution I've found so far is to reboot the router, it then resyncs and I have 3mb again, for a small time.. and the fun begins again.
This is obviously far from ideal and gaming is simply not possbile. I bought a dg834np and the same thing happened. This is the same for wired and wireless connection, and have check from 2 laptops.
BT have fixed a problem at the exhange, but this has had little effect. In fact, if anything, its slightly more unstable, flashing from 2200 to 70 in a blink.
My stats are:
Connection Speed down:3264 kbps up:448 kbps
Line Attenuation down:61.0 db up:31.5 db
Noise Margin down:5.1 db up:16.0 db
I've also tested other microfilters.
Any ideas?
Much appreciated,
George
