Will RJ11 TO BT do for modem/router cable.

Master socket right next to upstairs window where line comes into the house,if i use just the modem/router on this socket for broadband will it work with the above cable.I have been offerd this shorter cable, at present i use 10m RJ11 to RJ11 via a filter,i would have filters on all other sockets where the is a phone.

Yes, that cable should be fine. ADSL modems don't need filters - the ADSL output on filters is wired straight through.

Provided the middle two connections on the 4 pin RJ11 plug connect to pins 2 & 5 (2nd connection in from each end) of the BT plug.
Or, if you have a Belkin router you can swap from inner to outer pair (in the router setup) on the 4 pin RJ11, so the outer two connections on the 4 pin RJ11 plug can be connected to 2 & 5 on the BT plug.

So just to be clear i can use this cable from the modem/router to the master socket and it goes into the phone side of the filter or can i plug straight into the socket without a filter.or i am misreading things.

If there is no phone connected in that socket, there is no need to use a filter. Plug it straight in.

Never plug an ADSL modem or router into the 'phone side of a filter.
There are no ADSL frequencies present on the 'phone connection (the filter blocks them), so your modem will not work.
It must be plugged into either the DSL socket on the filter, or with no filter at all.

Thanks to adebov and zebedeee,

I will plug it straight from the modem/router into the master socket without a filter just like i plugged in the phone before i got broadband.
