ST546v5 from Ebay.

[link to this post]

Just got a 546 delivered today from Ebay and it's dead As far as I can tell it's the power block. No voltage on the power lead. Don't want to try the new router on my old PSU just in case it blows the power block. Anyone got any ideas where I might get a replacement PSU block ? It's 15v dc, according to the seller (a warehouse) it should be new. Have contacted the seller but as yet no reply. Any ideas where I stand with Ebay with this as it was DOA ?

Check the back of the router.
My ST546v5 is 15vac (clearly states this, just below the power socket).
My power supply is 15vac 1A.
If you're using a 15vdc power supply, that might explain why it doesn't work.
I assume you're using a multimeter to test the power supply - does it read anything on the 'v ac' setting?

Well blow me your right it's not dc it's 15 vac. Still dead tho even when the meter is set to AC.

So my question remains where could I get a spare PSU. Must admit I only paid

N57AT or N58AT from Maplin
One's a 500mA, the other's 1000mA.
Although my PSU is 1A (1000mA), i'd be surprised if the router took more than a couple of hundred mA.

Brilliant Ade, that'll do nicely if the seller isn't any help.
