Why are speedtouch UK slow with firmware upgrades?

I would love to get 6.2.g on my 716WL v.5. Thomson have it on their partner site, but obviously can't get a log-in to download it.

m8s.com have 6.2.f, but UK Support still want us to use 6.1

Any ideas how I can get the latest firmware?

you have the answer go to the m8s site, or get it from the aussies site.

The only difference is the uk firmware has defaults configured for the uk, these are easy to set in the setup wizard and only have to be done once.

Just followed that link. The only 716 they list is the 716(i)g, which it looks as if Speedtouch UK stopped supporting in 2005.

Any other ideas where I can get 6.2.g (apart, of course, from the Thomson partner site, where it is listed, but can't be accessed without a secure log-in.

As far as I can tell the 6.2.G firmware is for all models. It shouldn't make any difference be it G or WL model.

If you have a v5 G model then it should be compatible. It's the older v1 G model that isn't supported (last firmware for that model is 1.0D - got one sat here).

On the Speedtouch UK site the 716 G router is referring to the older v1 model. The 716 G v5 model is referred to as 716 WL.
