question on dmt and 585v6

[link to this post]

Hi all

i swapped my 585v6 for a new one after the one i got from disk depot kept going to red standby .

the new one works great except my sn margin has changed from

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 23.0 / 15.0

to

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 23.0 / 10.0

would this affect my line or will this drop throughout day ??

also when i open dmt in the experimental section and lower my sn margin and apply and resync it doesnt drop any - is there something im doing worng ??

any help would be great
thanks

SN Margins are meaningless unless they are linked to a sync speed.

You have to take the tick out of the 'Default SNRM' option as otherwise the noise margin stays at 6 dB as far as I know.
