Only one phone socket connects to adsl

[link to this post]

I have 4 different phone sockets located around the house, all work with phones, but only 1 will connect via adsl (it has an adsl faceplate on it), it almost seems as if adsl has been disabled on the other sockets in the house. Is this normal? Is there a way around it? (The router is wireless, so fine usually, but I want to move it upstairs to connect the xbox via cat5, refuse to pay

If one socket has an ADSL faceplate, it will be filtering out the ADSL signal from the other sockets.. If you are comfortable with phone wiring, you could replace it with a standard faceplate, but it may give you connection problems if the filtered face plate was fitted to resolve any difficulties.
