Which cheap wifi router for Dell laptop (Wlan1390)

[link to this post]

I'm currently using a SpeedTouch 585v6, which just isn't very capable at giving a good, stable signal around the house. (Quite often it drops to 1mbit). I've fiddled with it a bit and not had much luck at improving matters

I'm now changing ISP from IDNet 8mb to O2 16mb (purely on price), and huzzah! a new router to play with! but.. booooo! it's a 585v7

Looking into my crystal ball, I can see some ebaying in the near future, and a few quid to spend on a better replacement

It's got to be cheap(ish), play nicely with my main PC (to which it'll be hard-wired). This is used for my downloads (only a few GB per month) and on-line gaming (many too many hours of online FPS's)

It must work ok with my daughters Wii, and her DS (I never got that to work on my current wifi)

And it has to play ball with my laptop and it's (probably cr*p) Wlan 1390 wifi card. It's used for light internet browsing by my daughter.

Are there any other considerations I should bear in mind?

I'd prefer to pick up something from my local Pcworld, Comet, Maplins etc (plenty to choose from in Milton Keynes) but am also willing to go online for the right kit (or to get a decent discount).

Any thoughts much appreciated!

cheers,

Ross

Re:- "Are there any other considerations I should bear in mind?"

You could also consider Homeplugs

Line One:- Zen - DrayTek Vigor 2600VG
Line Two:- EntaNet - DrayTek Vigor 2600
