DG834G v4 NAT loopback

Hi bought a dg834g v4 today to replace the speedtouch 585v6 bebox. I'm on annex M Be* therefore needed the broadcom chipset. The speedtouch was a nasty piece of work in most respects, however i was able to enable NAT loopback via telnet on it. Is it possible to enable NAT loopback on the DG834G?

I spoke to netgear tech support, they were useless, didn't even know what NAT loopback was

Is there a DGTeam firmware for the DG834G v4 now its broadcom based?

Well I am ignorant of such application but did find this by a little Googling http://www.waveform.plus.com/netgear.html the info dates from 2005 but does 'answer' your question???

If we're thinking of the same thing, Netgear implemented what they consider to be NAT loopback about two years ago. It should be enabled by default.

My server log always shows the LAN gateway IP address rather than the WAN address which one of my earlier routers (Bonatech "Mentor") did.

That article deals with the v1 and v2 dg834's. These had a TI AR7 chip in them and the internals are completely different to the broadcom based v4.

By NAT loopback i mean being able to type the domain name of a server behind the NAT router and being able to access its page rather than just getting the netgear setup page. I think my old dg834g didn't have this problem.

ie: if i have a server at 192.168.0.2, then typing its domain that's accessible from outside the NAT eg: www.mydomain.com from within the NAT will direct to 192.168.0.2, rather than the router (192.168.0.1).

Right OK, fixed it.

My website is hosted on Windows Home Server, its meant to use UPNP to setup port forwarding for its webservices (80, 443 & 4125). This worked so i could access my website from outside the LAN. However for some reason when i forward the ports to the router manually it also made NAT loopback work properly.

Sounds like a bug in the netgear UPNP somewhere, either way fixed now.
