When i bought the router, I plugged it in, and did a reset to factory settings. After which I ran the setup wizard and it asked for the VCI. Previously when I had contacted Be, they told me to use VCI = 101, and VPI = 0. However the router only gives me VCI options of 0.38, 1.50, and 8.35. I tried all these settings, and in the username box put my username from be. But it still doesn't connect to the internet.
That's not the only problem, when i input 192.168.1.254 in the browser to access the outer and choose the toolbox option. On a previous router that I had before with firmware 6.1.4.3 installed there would normally be about 7 options such as game sharing, remote assistance, intrusion detection etc, however some of these are missing on the new router (which has firmware 6.2.16.3)
It doesn't let me also change the firmware. The firmware which is currently installed on the router is 6.2.16.3. I want to change this to the 6.1.4.3 version available from Be or the Thomson website. However it comes up with an error saying the firmware is not compatible.
I then went tried the later firmware on the Thomson site

for the 6-2-T-2 release, of which 2 versions are available. One generic and one AOL firmware version. When I try upgrading to either of these firmwares, only the AOL firmware is allowed onto the router. This had lead me to believe the router is locked to AOL.
