Netgear DGN2000

[link to this post]

Netgear have a new adsl router Netgear DGN2000 which seems to be available now in the U.K.

Does anyone have this router yet? I'm interested to know if it is using a Broadcom chipset and whether it has wired LAN QOS functionality (the netgear.com specificatons don't mention QOS at all but the Italian netgear site talks about QOS in relation to wireless netwoking, which may be similar to the recent QOS firmware upgrade for the DG834N).

Hi

The new Netgear appears to me nothing more than the old DG834N put into the same case style as their other kit probably as a way of saving manufacturing costs and because the vertical design isn't always that popular and looks odd compared to all the other makes it competes with.

Yes I was thinking that too. The external antennas may improve wireless performance though. I wonder if they are replaceable or annoyingly fixed like the DG834Gv4.

Hi

Their current models in that case style have fixed antenna and from the picture it looks suspiciously like that model does as well.
