Hi ripsteen, you got a real bargain there! The 3Com OfficeConnect 3CRWDR100A-72 ADSL2/2+ Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Firewall Router, is a fantastic piece of kit.

I bought my 3Com 3CRWDR100A-72 back in August 2005 for 58 it has been used almost every day and has given faultless performance.

I am impressed with the routers quality firmware, which is made so easy to understand and use.

The routers wireless is powerful and has a good range. Wireless review (here) also see inside a 3Com 3CRWDR100A-72.

Router info (here).

Latest firmware Version 2.06T13 update (here).

Hi, I would upgrade the 3Com 3CRWDR100A-72 router firmware if it does not have version 2.06 installed.

To check, go to Status and Logs, at the routers Status page you can see if it has Software Version 2.06 or 2.06T13 the latest firmware.

The router is very easy to upgrade! Create a directory on your computer named, 3Com Firmware. Download the firmware to that directory; unzip it as a BIN File to the same directory and it is ready to be downloaded to the router.

You will find the upgrade instructions within the router at, System Tools > Upgrade.

Do not upgrade via wireless, use only the Wired Ethernet Connection.

Special Instructions: A reset back to factory default is necessary after firmware upgrade. You will need to reconfig after upgrade. Do not use previous config backup's after upgrade.
