ADSL hangs,but ok after re-boot...

Ive got a bit of an annoying problem.A few weeks back I bought a Dynamode R-ADSL-C4-2 modem/router to replace my ancient Alcatel Speedtouch 330 (this modem would drop the connection very frequently so needed replacing).Everything was fine but recently the Dynamode has started to drop my conection,even a modem reboot wouldnt get my conection back.The only cure seems to be a total system (PC) reboot/restart.
As you can imagine this is quite annoying! It tends to happen if Ive been away from the computer for some time. This happens with IE and Firefox btw. Any ideas?

It is not totally clear from your post - just what is hanging.

You seem to be blaming the previous problems on the ancient modem, saying it dropped the (ADSL) connection.

But now, you are saying that the connection drops - but it needs a PC reboot to get things going again.

Are you certain that the connection is being dropped? Or is it the PC locking up, with the ADSL connection actually still OK?

Well all the lights are on the modem/router but no pages refresh or load up.Everything else seems fine,but to carry on surfing I have to reboot my computer.
I dont think the probs I had with my old modem are related in any way btw.It would lose the connection quite randomly,while this,like I said in my previous post seems to lose the connection if its been idle for a while.Any ideas?

This looks more like a computer problem than anything else.

If re-booting the computer (whilst not touching the router), sorts the problem then I think you need to look at what has changed on the computer.
