Netgear DG834GT DHCP Goes Stale

I keep my recent Netgear DG834GT on all the time as it does not have a switch. I've noticed that after about a day that when I turn on my wireless devices, they are unable to acquire an IP addy. I have to re-Apply the LAN IP Setup to get them to connect. This does not happen to my Ethernet-ed PC. I never had this trouble with my previous Siemens router which I switched off every night.

Is this a known defect of Netgear routers or is it a limitation of DHCPs or what?

Is there a keep-alive setting?

You say you 'turn on' the wireless devices. Leave them on?

I know that netgear firmware v1.02.19 had DHCP problems, haven't tried any later versions.
You could try the latest v1.03.23 or earlier v1.02.16 firmware

Alternatively you could try DGTeam firmware

I haven't had any issues with this but some have problems installing it.

Haven't tried the latest v0.8 but found v0.6 to be good.

Can't see any keep-alive setting.

It would be impractical to keep my radio and Kindle on all the time and never take the laptops out of the house.

Fixed a problem where DHCP times out with certain ISPs after 24 hours, requiring a reboot to refresh.
Fixed a problem where IP addresses were not reserved properly in some cases.

I've seen you talking about a firewall bug in v1.03.23 firmware. Is that just in conjunction with DGTeam firmware?

It was said in DGTeams forum that netgears firmware v1.03.23 has a firewall bug which is why they based their firmware on v1.03.22.
If any detail was given I've forgot it now.
Give GaTi a try I had no problems with v.06

Problem solved with firmware v1.03.23.

No adverse effect from any other reported bugs.

What does GaTi firmware do? Blog doesn't actually say what it is. My only requirement is to tweak NM which I can do simply with scripted Telnet.
