I've been using a Sky Netgear DG834GT using DGTeams firmware on ADSL24 LLU for years now and seem to be getting along fine with it. The other day I had a scare and thought the router was packing up so went out to Currys and bought a new Netgear N300 DGN2200 without knowing anything about it or reading any reviews.
By the time I'd got home the net was working fine again with my old DG834GT so the new one wasn't needed and can be taken back for a refund.
My question is, should I stick with my old router which works fine for now or would I be better off getting a more modern router?
Would I be gaining any more speed if I went newer? As I can tweak the SNR percentage down to 70% with the DG834GT for more speed currently as I have a rather long line - 4.18km.
