I recently purchased the Billion 7800n router to replace the standard O2 Wireless Box. I was happy with the speeds of the O2 Box, but had recently moved the iMac to another room (previously it was wired) and wanted to upgrade from 802.11g to n
As expected, wireless speed increased substantially. However, it's incredibly unreliable. I'll be downloading at upwards of 1MB/sec, and it will suddenly cut out. The iMac wireless reception indicator will jump up and down. Even if I'm not downloading, sometimes web surfing will be pitifully slow. It doesn't seem to affect any other wireless device (iphone/ipad/laptop)
Before, on 802.11g, from the same location, it was not unreliable. Speeds were not great (not enough for HD streaming), but at least it stayed connected.
Before I buy some home plug adapters, any ideas why this might be the case?
Advise/suggestions greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
