7800N sync rate is far lower than talktalk hawei router

If I plug in the TT router, I will get 9500/1019 rate but I only get 7500/1019 rate on the 7800n router. i am on the 6db fast path profile. Even If I adjust the SNR on the 7800N to 4.5db, I only get 8100/1019.

I have a 41db line att and wondering why I can't get higher speeds on 7800N.

I presume you're referring to the TalkTalk supplied Huawei Echolife 532? If so its a pile of junk! It also used to sync slightly higher than my Billion 7800N but re-synced 1-2 times every week whereas the Billion stays synced for months. I can only assume that the Echolife 532 syncs higher than it should, resulting in frequent disconnections.

If you don't have any line issues, i would use the Billion and bring down the SNR to 2-3db and you will find the Billion should sync around the 9 meg mark. You will find the Billion has no problem holding onto a line with only a few db noise margin for weeks at a time

I have adjusted it to 3db. But at night. The speed throughout is like 2-3 meg. So it's affecting the connection.

In that case leave the SNR untouched at 6db. The 7800N shouldn't sync significantly lower than the Huawei

Or the TalkTalk throughput at that time is congested, or even throttled.

TalkTalk's LLU network is hardly ever congested....shock horror! But if the OP was referring to P2P throughput of 2-3 meg, then yes he could be the victim of TalkTalk's dynamic throttling of P2P protocols. But there is something likely to be wrong at his end if he's getting speedtests of 2-3 meg on a 8 meg sync.

OP, try using these settings on the 7800N and see if that makes a difference to the sync speed @6db
