Netgear DGN 2000 Firmware

Hello

As a backup to my existing router, I purchased a "refurbished" Netgear DGN2000 wireless router. Last night I tested this, and noticed that it had the North American firmware applied.

Will this effect anything? Can I re-flash with the UK firmware without issues?

Only reason I ask, is I have to use DMT Tool to enable me to get a decent speed, living on a very long line and in a village... With my old Speedtouch, UK version I can tweek settings, as now to get a sync of around 2400, but with the Netgear I can only manage 2018 at the most...

Maybe just the way the Netgear works, but I an not sure the North American Firmware will effect regions..

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, the main difference between the two versions seems to be what happens after the router is reset to factory defaults, as the "normal" setup in NA is different to UK.

Do you think this would effect the sync speed?

I also bought a "refurbished" one also with NA firmware

it actually seems pretty stable
