Both support Cable/Ethernet/EWAN and DSL
I'm finding it hard to see what the difference in the price is about
anyone want to point some things out for me?

anyone want to point some things out for me? 1 is wireless "N" the other is wired only, both use the same chipset, firmware is slightly different thought for the 2, both will support IPV6 too
apart from that the price is the only other significant factor that i am aware of between the two

oops, miss read the post,
The main difference between the two is gigabit ethernet connectivity which the 7300n doesn't have and also there isn't any mention of if it's IPV6 ready $ £40 in price

I'm glad you re-posted
As you say the I don't believe the 7300N is IPv6 ready which is a shame.

I don't know about the 7300 but fyi:
7800N - (CPU) BCM6358 300MhZ, (Flash) 4MB, (RAM) 32MB, (Max NAT session) 3000
7700N - (CPU) BCM63281 320Mhz, (Flash) 8MB, (RAM) 32MB, (Max NAT session) 1984
The 7800N obviously has the advantage of the better wireless N as it has 3 antennas and the Gigabit LAN.
I'm looking for an upgrade from a 2700hgv so both of the above probably fine (2700 has nat session limit of 1000 only) but personally I think I'm going with the 7800n. Not as feature rich as a draytek 2830n but I'm scared of all the bugs with those.

I'd go for the 7800N which is known to work really well on BE

both DO NOT use the same chipset:
7800N - (CPU) BCM6358 300MhZ, (Flash) 4MB, (RAM) 32MB, (Max NAT session) 3000
7300N - TC3162P2H+3085+RT2880T, Flash: 4M, Memory: 16M, Max NAT Session: 1024
Go for the 7800n, I have, just ordered it!

Just out of interest, from where did you get this info? Whenever I am looking for a new router, these are just the specs that I am interested in but can never seem to find .

Hi DrT
Billion seem to be one of the few router manufacturers that actually state the chipset type on their website.
BiPAC 7800N Broadcom Chipset...
I appreciate the exact chipset version isn't there (I'll leave the other poster to reply to that) but it's a lot better than most other manufacturers bother to provide! The exact details are often only available on forums such as this where people have the routers to interrogate via telnet etc.
"Technical Specs" pfft! - I guess they don't visit TBB and see what their real users want!
