No DSL light

My internet was working, although not particularly well, until recently. I removed the cable from the adsl socket and put it back in. But now I can't connect to the internet at all. The DSL light doesn't come on either.

I've plugged the same cable into my netgear router and I can get the internet and the dsl light comes on.

Is it a hardware failure? A crash? Any ideas on how to diagnose?

Try rebooting the router by taking the adapter plug out of the back and putting it in again.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen Lite 8000

A factory reset button did the trick.
