Yeah it's a Broadcom BCM6358 Chipset

My DG834GT (running DGTeam firmware) is still giving stirling service after several years and I have not had any cause to think about changing it. If I recall this model does suffer from overheating if not sited somewhere cool with plenty of ventilation.

Yeah mine did too. The first one I had I think overheated (It was a brand new unit!) so I put a small fan in my second (Brought used) at the end of March 2010.

Seemed to work great but I went through about 4 fans from 30/03/2010 till I posted the first post on this thread. Every few months it would start making a funny noise so I eventually added a screw terminal on the end of both cables so I could swap the fans quickly.

The end of the two cables (Red and Black) I soldered directly to the reverse of the DC input to the Unit.

You might want to try a 92mm fan if you can fit it. They tend to run slower, quieter and are less prone to failure. They ought to shift the same, if not more air too, depending on the speed compared to an 80mm one.

I'm afraid it's too late now, As I've said it's packed up (All 4 port lights stay on despite the orange tick flashing for a second and going off as normal).
