You were done! Send it back. You can do the job of an I-plate manually yourself.

although I did struggle to emulate the common mode filter wink

That's because you use the wrong toothpaste. The colour of the stripes is vitally important, because of the frequencies they absorb.

At the moment im hardwired into the back of the master mainly because my modem is upstairs about 4.5m from the master socket and using Cat5 But the reason is there is only a short bit on the main incoming 2core wire so would struggle to fit a large style back plate and new style adaptor plate with inbuilt filtering but if i could get a bit more free wire out of the wall what is the best plate and socket to go with please.
Or can anyone suggest a better way of connection. I need the modem up there as its the best place so I can get a decent connection down the garden to the radio shack.

Need a photo of your existing setup so we can really understand what "hardwired into the back of the master" means.

Do you mean connected to the master faceplate like in the picture http://www.thinkbroadband.com/images/faq/faceplates/...

Hello
Yes I think that is how its connected But if I remember right its only got two wites connected 2 and 5 but im not 100% I will have to check.

Also I should have put that the modem shuts off now and again and some of those times it does it 3-4 5 times in a row, And I have to turn it on and off to get it to boot up right.
