Hi,
Does anyone know how to flash/convert a DGN1000SP to the standard DGN1000 firmware?
Currently the DGN1000SP has Orange firmware, and will not upgrade to the latest DGN1000 firmware.
Originally, i had the retail version of the DGN1000, and it could hold onto the internet connection for weeks without problem. The wifi was poor with occassional drop outs.
Unfortuneately 2 weeks ago I had visitors (kids), and they managed to physically break my router. I tried a broadcom chipset based router, and it screwed up my line profile so I lost around 6meg in sync speed.
I didnt want to buy a new router, because at some point BT will finish installing fttc. So I opted to buy a DGN1000 on Ebay, but the seller did not say anything about it being a DGN1000SP.
There seems to be a big difference in its ability to hold onto the internet connection compared to the standard DGN1000. It doesn't seem to know when it's lost its internet connection, but automatically reconnects every 6 hours. Because it doesn't detect or log its disconnection, it doesn't update the dyndns with the new IP.
I thought the standard DGN1000's wifi was poor, but the DGN1000SP is far worse.
