Re: How to set up my ADSL 2+ to the Asus RT N66U

VCMux is an encapsulation setting so it should be the Encapsulation Drop down box where you select the LLC/SNAP if only LLC listed then select that.

Yeah I have changed the Encapsulation to LLC, but do I keep the ATM QoS type to UBR or does that need to anything I listed in my previous post?

Think it should be fine, a long time since I had a router which showed all the fiddly bits, most are more user friendly

Guy's my ISP is Sky, I'm getting a feeling its PPPoA line? does that make it a problem for me to bridge?

Sky use something else other than PPPoA - it uses different VC numbers too.

http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk-Orders/Us...

they may or may not support PPPoA currently, and I don't know if they support the PPPoE that bridging would require. You may do better in a Sky forum or perhaps repost with "Using a bridged modem and router on Sky" etc as your title

It varies with Sky and the solution is usually to see what mode their existing Sky device is using.

Can't say I have felt the desire to try any bridging type modes, my old experiences put me off of this mode of operation when the bridge devices were the weak point.

me neither, they're all a kludge. An IP address range is the best solution if you want a separate router and no double NAT.
