Can anyone recommend a dual band WiFi access point, preferably 2 or 3 stream, to upgrade the WiFi on a Sky router without going through the pain of swapping the router?

If you mean the RT-N66U, that's a wireless Ethernet router. He wants a WAP.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Thanks The N66U can be configured in an AP mode, but it seems overkill to lose most of its features
I found this which might work:

It seems to be about a specific feature which many might not use. The reviewer is also wrong about the Sky Hub, it does support MAC address filtering on wifi.

I wonder if what he means is the scheduling side of it on the Sky kit, which is the problem he had on the Trendnet. It could just be a sloppy post.

I don't expect an £36 AP to be able to do traffic filtering/management, that's what the router is for, unless you have a locked down device from your ISP.

Yeah, I did wonder that, but the sentence where he specified that Sky had no MAC address filtering made no mention of scheduling. Trendnet is generally pretty good kit though, for the price. In the ball-park of Edimax and TP-Link.

I currently run the RT-N66U in access point mode...one advantage it does have in my scenario is that it has five gigabit ports as opposed to the four 100Mbit ports on the TRENDnet.
