FritzBox 7490 - LAN to LAN VPN and other features

AVM seem to be keeping it close to their chest, I didn't know the FritzBox 7490 (and maybe other produts?) could be used as a VPN endpoint and set up a LAN to LAN VPN connection.

Anyone doing this? How's it working?

I had thought a Draytek was needed to do this kind of advanced networking.

I want to know if the FritzBox will be able to create a LAN to LAN with A N Other device or even a Mac OS X Server's VPN service and do that while allowing further incoming connections from other 'out and about' users.

I think it must be. Your review suggests Mac users are out of luck when it comes to VPN. The shiny new AVM website has lots of advice on setting up VPN for Mac OS X (which looks familiar) and creating LAN to LAN. I don't think the VPN tab could be described as "very sparse" any more!

Shouldn't you be reviewing the 7490 - alongside a selection of lightening protectors?!

The same? guide also appears within the 7390 knowledge base (http://en.avm.de/nc/service/fritzbox/fritzbox-7390/knowledge-base/publication/show/5_Setting-up-a-VPN-connection-between-two-FRITZ-Box-networks/) so the 7390 appears to have the facility and, I'd guess, probably any other models supporting Fritz!OS 6.xx
