Help with Asus DSL-ac68u and SSE Fibre

I picked up one of these earlier this week, spent some time trying to set it up, but had little or no luck with it connecting to SSE.

I'm going to give SSE a call back this evening and try and get the right settings, but am not expecting a great deal of luck.

I was provided with my username and password, and I know its a PPPoE connection, what other information would I need to get from SSE to get the unit to connect?

I'm currently connected with the Technicolor Router they provide, although when going into the menu's within the Admin panel it's very limited in relation to the information it will show you.

Worked this time round, thanks Andrew - updated firmware etc.

finding that the speed test the Asus is around 71MB down compared to the BT modem being 76MB down, I can live with that, but is there anything I can do to push it to give me a bit more?

Any ideas on settings etc?

First step is to find out the actual connection speed, second would be to check whether any QoS settings are turned on - this can reduce maximum speeds slightly when turned on.

what's the best way to find the 'Actual' connection speed?

QOS settings all appeared to be disabled on the unit!!

There should be a router/connection status page in the routers web interface

I shall have a dig around this evening and see if I can find it! thank you

the router stats are below, seems to think the line connection is around 59MB, although I get higher speeds when doing a speed test.
