Need a Fibre router (been out of the game for a while)

Now that fibre has been installed in our village I am moving back to having broadband over the telephone line (currently on a wi-fi system - rooftop to rooftop).

Being 400m from the cabinet I am looking for something that will pack the punch speeds wise but also something that will handle:

3 laptops
2 sky boxes
1 htpc

We are photographers so are moving big files between laptops and a homeserver so a good strong wireless is essential.

Currently I am looking at the TP-Link Archer D9 AC1900, but as I say I have been out of the DSL system for a while so I do not know what is good / bad.

Move to a wired system and install a dedicated managed switch.

The Archer is pretty decent for your needs

UI is pretty poor but its not too much of a big deal.

Its got most of what you need

Wireless AC/N/5Ghz ect (most laptops don't support AC/5Ghz unless its a higher end model or you can grab a usb adapter)

x4 Gigabit ports

Seems pretty good.

I would say avoid all in one (modem and router) devices as router issues/reboot can cause issues for your DSL line, however Openreach have/are going to no longer supply modem's or support them.

I had a VR900 which was a pretty strong modem but might be overkill for yourself.

The D9 your looking at isn't VDSL compliant either so will not work with services like BT Infinity...

Any idea what Internet provider your looking to take service from, they're kit might do what you need and will save any blame or troublshooting issues 'if' there's any issues in the future.
