Billion 8800NL regular disconnects

I have had my Billion router for around a year now and it has been pretty good and resilient. It often stays up on my fibre line for 50 days at a time. Recently it has started dropping the connection once or twice a day and taking several minutes to reconnect. The router isn't rebooting, merely re- establishing the connection.

How can I tell if this is a router issue or a Plusnet issue please? (not too techie in your answers please )

(I thought there was a way to format the stats using the #, but it seems I was wrong )

Recently, G.INP has been enabled on ECI cabs and a few people have reported problems like yours.

Ahh, is this the think that is supposed to improve the connection for users? Any way around it at all or should I go via PN?

I'm not sure. DLM should sort itself out, but you should call PN to report the fault.

Sorry, didn't get back to you. My router is running 2.32d.dh14 firmware, not sure if to upgrade or not as the Billion forum doesn't look too heavily populated and the upgrade was buggy. Still getting 1 or 2 disconnects a day, I have also raised it with PN.

My router stats show interleaving and g.inp, I thought one cancelled out the other?

A bit peeved really as my once rock solid connection is changing on a daily basis and I am having to make sure my no-ip updating software updates promptly as I have dynamic dns

Apparently Openreach have found problems with G.INP on ECI cabs so they are now in the process of removing it

Nothing like a bit of in service testing to find the faults

Hopefully it will be off of my line soon in that case. Thanks for the update.

The line has become stable again, although that may be because interleaving is showing on my stats and snr is increased.

Not really worried about that, but happy to have stability back. Shame all I got was scripted responses from PN
