TP-link C3200 setup

I'm with plusnet I have fibre broadband, I was using an older model tp-link router & this connects fine. But I cannot get on line with my new TP-Link C3200. Both Plusnet & TPLink are stumped. Can someone with more knowledge than me help me trouble shoot it please? I'm desperate, I've spent hours on this. Thank you

I think this is a router and needs a modem

It is connected to a modem, bt openreach modem

So what have you tried?

LAN1 modem to WAN on the router
PPPOE connection
Username: [email protected]
Password: BT

?

yep done that & tried setting it up manually

Have you tried a different ethernet cable between the modem and the router?

I'm using the same ethernet cables between the old router & modem as I am on the new router it isn't the issue.

I'll just wait for someone who has greater knowledge of this router than I to come along thanks for your help

You haven't forgotten the format of the login username for Plusnet have you? I did a couple of times when changing routers.

Also it's a PTM connection.

No I've checked it & checked with plusnet. I have all the settings saved in a notepad thing & screengrabs of all my settings in the old tp link router

PTM connection? plusnet are insisting it is PPPoE. Is that the problem then?
