"difference" between Type-A and -B for BT Home Hub 5??

This query probably may have asked before, but what is the major differences between BT Home Hub 5's Type-A and Type-B?? I have Plusnet FTTC broadband and been contemplating of finding a COMBINED Modem/Router as a spare. I know that BT Home Hub 5 could support that according to the comments from the internet/Plusnet forums. However I'm not too sure about the "differences" between its Type-A & B. Could someones enlight me on this issue??

I shall be using the BT Home Hub 5's wireless function as well its wired functions, does it do any good compared to Plusnet's owen Router's wireless functions??

They are made by 2 different manufacturers.

Amongst the differences are the Type A has a Lantiq chipset, the Type B has a Broadcom chipset.

The Type A is better on an ECI cabinet, the Type B better on a Huawei cabinet.

They Type A doesn't do G.INP, the Type B supports G.INP.

The wifi is better on The Type A than the Type B.

If you get PlusNets new hub, it has a combined modem and router.

It is just a rebranded BT HomeHub 5A

Currently I have ECI Cabinet and coupled with BT ECI Modem and separate Router. So according to your infos then the BT Home Hub 5 Type-A should be most suitable combined Modem/Router then!

I shall try to get aType-A HH 5 from ebay then.

P.S; As currently I'm using sepeate BT ECI modem and Router, unless the new Plusnet's HH 5 ONE (which I have to order as well if I needed it) would be a lot better than BT Home Hub 5 Type-A, then I would be wiser to stick with BT HH 5 Type-A

The Plusnet Hub One or whatever it is called is a BT Home Hub 5A, presumably with minor firmware config mods for Plusnet.

The only difference between HH5A and Plusnet One is it has smart setup turned off (the worlds most annoying feature anyway). Otherwise, identical.
