EE BrightBox 2 router - no local DNS

[link to this post]
I've just started with EE and the service is fine so far but I have a problem with their BrightBox 2 router. It doesn't return local DNS hits from its DHCP cache. All the routers I've had in the past allowed you to configure a local domain, I use .lan, and then you can contact any DHCP connected host on your local network using "hostname.lan". Even though you can set a LAN domain name, the EE router doesn't do local lookups and just forwards the DNS request to the internet name servers, which obviously cannot resolve my local hostnames. Is there a way to turn this feature on for the BrightBox 2 router?
