I have an old Acer Aspire One notebook, updated to Windows 10.
The WAP, fed from a 100Mbps Virgin cable, that supplies its wifi will deliver a 98Mbps download to a Galaxy A7 phone, seated next to the Acer, but the Acer only manages 13Mbps. I have added a dual band dongle to the Acer so it can use the less congested 5G channel, but that does not make much difference.
The Acer is not really used much for downloading data, so a new machine is not envisaged, but it would be useful to speed it up.
Any ideas please?
