What issues do you think this chipset results in?

I've ordered one now, seemed to be the best reviewed out of all dsl modem/router combos in my budget.

Instability, it breaks rules in UPBO.

It doesn't follow G.INP standards correctly so much so OpenReach have taken the decision to remove G.INP on these devices.

If you are on a Huawei cabinet this will seriously impact the speed, stability and likely the latency of your connection if the connection is interleaved.

This is the only device in aware of that OpenReach has done this with.

G.INP is 1 of the best technologies to get rolled out on FTTC for speed, stability and latency.

The DLM will not lower the target SNRM without G.INP either.

Cannot recall the nature and newer firmware might be better, but best avoided particularly given the cost.

The AC1900 is the older ASUS DSL-AC68U which I believe is using the poor mediatek chipset for the modem and thus generally best avoided
Also doesn't support third party firmware, the 88U is a very different beast.

Ok, I'll cancel the order and try the ac3100 model from Currys (even though it's much more than I hoped to spend)

This one? https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-Archer-VR2100-Advan...

Some of the reviews don't fill me with confidence though

I use this

Find it to be good enough and no issues.

Tempted by the AVM FRITZ!Box 7590, just concerned about it's range. One of the issues I wish to overcome over my existing Technicolor is some black spots in the house (it's only a small house, so I should be able to get away without any boosters/repeaters). I have managed this with other routers.
