Well it arrived and seems a solid bit of kit. Just done a basic config and the firmware updated automatically. Now in testing.

I use the Merlin firmware with mine, the main change is that in the usage monitoring, I can save the info to a USB stick in the back. With the factory firmware, the data is lost if the router reboots.

I had an RT-AC68U, and moved last Dec to an RT-AX88U - and those are not cheap ! smile

Thanks jchaimer for the tips. I have copies of the latest Merlin and John's Fork on my drive but if this is stable I will be keeping it going. I doubt I will use the monitoring I have just had a quick look, or AIProtection as it identified my modem monitor as a threat. Just might stick with the default firmware until the warranty runs out if it goes that long. laugh

Having played with the Traffic Analyzer I can see its value. Need to play around a bit more and get some data.

Well the 68U has been up for 1 day 8 hours and hasn't dropped PPP session once. Wifi is also pretty stable, I also noticed on one of the firmware updates

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.385.20490
- Improved connection stability.
- Optimized CPU utilization.
- Fixed some UI bugs.
- Fixed login bugs.

Maybe the 1200G just hasn't caught up with the above fixes. Liking the extras as well like Traffic Analyser and AI Protection.
