Red Care alarm, and VDSL filters?

[link to this post]

My local museum currently have 2 lines one for phone and alarm and another for broadband.
historically with redcare alarms and adsl were a problem, so the older fax line was used. They now want to optimize this to just one line.
so my question is; where do I need to put the filters?
currently I think the line comes in near where the alarm is housed, then works its way to the office, about 20metres cable length further. the vdsl router will be near the phone in the office. we won't be using fax. the current vdsl line will then be scrapped.

Maybe change the alarm box to one than can communicate via the Internet as one I have does.

If it is Redcare the line will already run through the Redcare interface before continuing on to the phone, this is so the alarm can take control of the line. The original interfaces didn't have any filters and didn't play nicely with DSL signals, later interfaces fixed this.

It hasn't been possible to order Redcare using PSTN for a while now, there are various options using broadband (via WiFi, ethernet on some models) and/or 3G/4G depending on the ATS Standard (previously Grade) required, see Redcare Installer Handbook. Any existing PSTN interfaces will have to be replaced before copper switch off, I suspect it unlikely than any non-filtered interfaces can be replaced with filtered ones as these are unlikely to available.

Probably worth discussing options with the alarm maintenance company.

your alarm supplier should be able to move you to a GSM dialer, these are normally have a cheaper running cost than redcare. you could then move the vdsl to Sogea again you should see some cat saving as it does not have the voice part of the line.

they could aslo move the voice line to SIP to maximize savings using a sip dect and sip trunk supplier.

thank you,
yes we need to speak with Chubb alarms.
we still have our current vdsl connection on the other line,
hence the priority is the alarm and then the very limited amount of voice that we use.
so we can try various options.
not ready to do the sogea stuff yet, but the new router does ip phones, so laying the foundations for it
oh and I find we need to move several large filling cabinets to get to any socket
