I've had VDSL for more than a decade, and have used more than a dozen different VDSL modems and bridged routers, including the Vigor 130 and 166 varients, trying to achieve maximum line speeds and minimum latency.
I have always had near maximum speeds, very low error rates, and my connection has ALWAYS been FASTPATH for both upload and download directions.
However my latest aquisition the Vigor 167, has the best sync and error performance so far, EXCEPT that the download path is always "Interleaved" at "Depth" of 8.
If I swap back to ANY other modem (or router in bridged mode), the line ALWAYS resyncs as "FastPath".
Looking at the line stats of the Vigor 167, there doesn't appear to be anything unusual that would cause it to be "Interleaved".
I'm left thinking that perhaps there is a DrayTek line negotiating algorithm that needs a little optimising, in order to get the Vigor 167 to resolve as FASTPATH.
Therefore I'm wondering if there is anybody here that uses a Vigor 167 modem, and sees on their download "Line Statistics" a "Path Mode" of "Fast" ? - or is it just me with it stuck on interleaved ?
I'm running the latest v5.2.5 firmware, and DSL code 5.12.18.17_B_A60901
