I can confirm that with some messing around, I managed to download the tool, and get it to use the English files for the interface. Once I had that, I then implemented the changes above and multicast channels all work.

Any tips on how to change the interface language Warren, and the version of the editor you used?

Cheers,

Sure, it was a bit of luck really. After you open the editor, it creates a file called...

FBEditor.properties.xml

That file has an entry in it called...

<entry key="language">en_US</entry>

Well, it was something else, but I played around with it until I found an en that worked. smile

Thanks, I never knew this - I managed to 'learn' enough German (largely by trial and error) to know which menu items I needed to open, save, find, etc.
I'm definitely going to 'teach' the FBEditor to speak English if I can.

[Edit] Done now, thanks @warrenk.

Can you try FBEditor: http://www.heise.de/download/fbeditor.html (note @warrenk's change above about language to make it easier to use) just to check whether @DougM's original edits are showing in your config?

By the way, which Fritz!OS version is everyone using - my 7490 (working with Plusnet IPTV (Essentially the same as BTTV multicast/YouView with slightly different channel line-up) is on 06.30 using my config saved from my 7390 also running 06.30 but I (obviously) didn't remove any personal/account details from my own backup/restore.

Did anyone ever manage to get BT multicast IPTV working with the Fritz!box?

As mentioned above, I have Plusnet multicast IPTV (delivered by the BT Multicast platform) working on my Fritz!Box 7490 (and previously working on a 7390).
I suspect others have working configurations too so it is possible to make it work, just a great pity that AVM don't incorporate a suitable configuration in their firmware themselves.

I thought we might be 'nearly there' last June.
