I have not heard from my ticket to ukfsn. I have just ordered my Mac code. An Orange rep rang me with a really good offer as I have my mobile phone with them. Gunna give them a try. My brother is with them and finds them o/k. A massive saving in cost.
I have always had great service from Orange with my phone. They have been first class. Even to the Orange insurance.

A shame because I have been with ukfsn for about six years I think?
Perhaps a lot more will leave?

Orange LLU broadband, which was reasonable, is now outsourced (White Label BT Wholesale) just like the Post Office and Vodaphone. Reports so far from people who have been moved over are mixed but tending to poor.

Orange non-LLU has always been poor.

I suggest you tell us your exchange and what you do on the internet. Gaming, or heavy downloading, or simple browsing/shopping/email/banking etc.

It's quite possible your problem is at your place anyway. In which case you will find no improvement. Have you even tried a different router?

I gathered this off the internet! I have just signed up with BT for an unlimited package which is truly unlimited. No fair usage policy! I have this in writing from BT.
Cheaper than Entanet ukfsn. It also has a great phone calls package. I am very happy with the deal at the moment!!!
Ukfsn were restricting me to 100kbs at times. I have been guaranteed this will not happen with BT.
Great!!!!!!

You might want to check that - BT *do* traffic shape connections.

Download speed achieved during the test was - 1240 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps

This is my 1mb speed at the moment with ukfsn. Tested on bt speedtester.
Rediculous. I had to move!

The question is whether or not you moved wisely. Twelve-month contract with BT? Or with the deal you got perhaps 18 months?

Time will tell.

Only time will tell. I have been with BT before. I left because it was expensive.
but you get what you pay for!
I am crossing my fingers as it is a two year contract.
I just want a stable broadband without speed restrictions. I would rather have 5mb all the time than 7mb sometimes and 100k on others.

There could be a problem with your line or something, if you keep getting disconnections, and so moving to another provider won't fix that, would have been far better seeing about that first, as if you do have a line problem, then your going to get the same disconnections etc... on BT, and you would have been best off going straight to Enta for support yourself, as they are the provider.

I am currently with BT Business broadband and on a static ip
They do throttle p2p at peak times 5pm-12am but i usually get around 500kbps download on frostwire during this time and in the day it is not throttled but dont use it all the time
My downloads are always very good on an upto 8mb unlimited package £30:00 a month and well worth it
i had an email from BT saying that the unlimited broadband was now unlimted no fair usage and i have downloaded 600gb in a month to try that and it is true i only usually download 100-250gb a month as there is 5 of us in the bulidng with iphones and that and allot of bbc iplayering

BT are getting better now but as Fibre said it could be a problem with your line although i doubt it with 8128kbps sync speed

This is my bt speedtest 05.06.2011 - 14:15
Download speedachieved during the test was - 6942 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

If you have any questions about bt business broadband i am here to help!

Wow! Just tested my speed Sunday 19.38

Download speed achieved during the test was - 1689 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

Most disappointing! They promised me this wouldn't happen! Just hoping it is because they are setting up the line. It was between 600-700 k earlier but on occasion slowed right down.

I have also started recieveing this mysterious red light/no internet connection. My bandwidth usage has increased over the last few months if that makes any difference. Total downtime over the last 12 days with Enta through UKFSN has been 3.5 - 4 days, in two solid blocks. Not very handy to say the least as I run an internet business that has to process over a hundred order daily.

When it eventually reconnects actual throughput drops from 8Mps to as low as 2Mbs, seemingly as I use more bandwidth (ALT does not show as active when I check and I am a 0 out of 5 days high bandwidth user, if both these are still relevant?)

DSL line sych remains constant at 8128 kbps/832 kbps throughout the process (as it has done for years) and it seems to be only a PPPoA connection problem

Can anyone that is knowledgeable please offer suggestions for this behaviour (the disconnects for days at a time is of course the pressing matter)

Thanks for your time

[edit] have tried two different modems and sets of cables, with the same results

Long time member, just so long I forgot my old username/pass
