Astraweb here to.
Aquiss business package
Stepney green IPSC interconnect ant currently at 93 percent and rarely goes lower than 90 throughout the day.
Currently can't get any data from the astraweb servers and over the last few days I have only seen very rare small spikes in the Grabit download speed graph.
Set it to download a 500meg file yesterday morning and when I came home 6 hours later it had downloaded about 3 meg.

Yep, me too. But after 1am it gets up to speed so the routing must be okay. This must be some kind of artificial throttling done by Enta. Hopefully someone with another premium NNTP service will be able to tell us if it is slow for them too, if so then it is probably all NNTP other than Entas own.

FWIW my problem is also present when using news.enta.net, in fact it's anything with port 119 or indeed port 569.

ALT will be on all the time if your nodes that highly utilised, so you'll be getting throttled all day, was the same for me when i was on Enta, after they moved me to the IPSC (which they didn't tell me), stuck me on a node that was about 95% 24/7, 365, i was getting less than 1mb speeds, i remember downloading a 20mb file one day, at about 20k, took forever, was an utter joke, so i left.

True. But somehow they still prevent the nodes going over 100%. (Which on MSILs they can).

Oh yeah, they changed it to prioritising traffic, so not throttling everyone/everything down when the nodes are getting hammered, its now just throttling usenet etc... when they are.

990KB in 10 minutes.
I thought people on office/business packages were given priority during office hours?

I think usenet is still one of the lowest priorities though whatever package you are on.

Which I guess makes sense for the majority of customers.

Is anyone else being blocked from the astraweb website and from downloading binaries?
For a week or so I have been unable to access the website and d/l binaries till late in the evening.
Headers come through ok though.
Stepney green has been at 88+ pretty much all day every day and I rarely see download speeds via browser above 250KB.
Time for enternet to buy some more bandwidth on stepney.
