If you put your phone number into this site
http://staging.trefor.net/tech-pages/availability-ch... it will give your speed estimates as the BT checker does, but if you then zoom in to your street on the map it will tell you which cabinet you’re connected to and if it’s due to be upgraded. I don’t know how accurate it is because it only tells you which cabinet your post code is connected to (a post code could be an entire street which could maybe be split across more than 1 cabinet?). It doesn’t say where the cabinets are located though. The one on Hasland Road in the picture linked from the 5th post is cabinet 71, which doesn’t yet have a FTTC cabinet.
Some of the other cabinets around here are 11 (bottom of Hasland Road) 46 (on The Green just off the top of Storforth lane, next to the old junior school), 23 (junction of The Green and Broomfield Avenue) and 32 (Junction with Mansfield Road and Hillcrest Road). 11, 46 and 23 all have FTTC cabinets since around 2 weeks ago, and 32 has the area around the cabinet dug up and barricaded off ready.
I hope that helps.
