What do you think of this BQM graph?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. I have recently migrated to FTTC (via ADSL24) and have notice the BQM showing packet loss during the same period for the last two days.

My Broadband Ping

The yellow spikes for reference is me doing the occasional speed test.

My PPPOE router is a pfsense box. It has a built in RRD graph which auto graphs ping times against the next hop. It also shows some loss also (max 2% average 0.1%).

Would appreciate it if other BQM / FTTC users had any input.

packet loss is a bit high, is it via Enta ? (it's a lot worse than my enta ADSL but also worse than my Demon link which is struggling with packet loss at the moment).

I believe it is murphx... it is their routers I see when running a trace.

what part of the country you located? thats a high base latency.

Latency went up on day 2 by 10ms.

My Broadband Ping

Running some adhoc speed tests have produced interesting results... I'll run them more rigerously today and post later.

Pings run against the ISP dns server and open dns servers from a host on my lan also get no replies at an unexpected frequency during the period of "red" dripping on the graph.

My Broadband Ping - Demon line, the worst of my two G.dmt ADSL lines. Tends to be very congested.

Some more interesting information.

I have been running 3 continuous pings from a host on my lan for days.

1) ping to my firewall LAN interface. This has to go via wireless

306754 packets transmitted, 304170 packets received, 0.8% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 0.452/1.501/257.775/1.540 ms

2) ping to the first router I see on my ISP

306857 packets transmitted, 298456 packets received, 2.7% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 31.231/35.939/2676.568/20.231 ms

3) ping to open DNS

306799 packets transmitted, 298120 packets received, 2.8% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 31.403/33.172/289.311/3.012 ms

Subtracting the loss locally of 0.8% means I am seeing on average 2% ICMP loss over this interval.
