My exchange is Calder Valley and it was FTTC enabled and ready for service last year. My nearest cabinet is about 400metres away from my house but B T Infinity constantly say 'service not available'. After about 30 phone calls and numerous letters I have discovered that my line (and most of my neighbours lines) is connected to a cabinet over 2 kilometres away. The underground cable actually passes within a metre of the cabinet 400 metres away, on its way to the pole serving my home. B T say they are unable to switch lines between cabinets. Does anybody know if it is possible to have a line transferred from a distant cabinet to a nearer one, as opposed to B T being just not willing to do it?
Any advice would be welcome.
